The best drive simulator lands on consoles
After years of waiting it finally lands on the main consoles (PS4 and XBOX One) Assetto Corsa, the best drive simulator developed by Kunos Simulations and published by 505Games, both strong and alive realities of the Italian IT landscape.
The game has been on the market on Steam (a platform for the digital distribution of videogames) for PC for about 2 years and now, after a long adaptation work, it will also be playable on consoles.
Assetto Corsa: the best game made in Italy
The history of Kunos Simulations begins in 2005 when Marco Massarutto and Stefano Casillo decided to found an independent software house and devote themselves to designing games.
The first title produced by the Roman house was Netkar Pro 2, an online driving simulator for PC that had little success, however.
Despite the half failure, however, the two young people did not lose heart and realized, within 3 years, other titles always concerning driving simulations: Maragoni Hill Climb Simulator, Abarth 500 Trophy e Ferrari Virtual Academy. But the real success, the one able to project them on the world video game scene, they had with Assetto Corsa.
After years of planning, in fact, Kunos managed in 2014 to publish a top-level simulator, able to compete with titles of the caliber of Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport thanks to simply spectacular graphics and a realism never seen before.
An almost perfect driving simulator
The strength of Assetto Corsa is precisely in its realism and in the game mechanics that aim at a driving experience that is as close to reality as possible.
Not being able to count on a team of hundreds of people (at the moment Kunos has 30 collaborators, of which 15 entered in the last year) and on limited contents and licenses from a budget not even comparable with that of the competition, Assetto Corsa had to focus on other factors to become competitive.
Physics, mechanics and graphics are of an excellent level, giving the gamer a feeling of pure realism.
In short, the success is more than justified, and at the moment Assetto Corsa appears to be one of the most coveted titles, forcefully inserting Made in Italy into the videogames market.
