Surrounded by the peaks of Monte Rosa that exceed 4000 meters, and lapped by imposing glaciers, the high Ayas Valley it has the shape of a large amphitheater open to the south, which closes to the north in a narrow and wooded valley, above the town of Champoluc.
The north-south orientation of the valley, crossed by the Evancon stream, makes Ayas the sunniest position in the whole region.
In the Ayas basin they are well distributed 35 villages, picturesque and ancient, with houses leaning against each other and built in the typical style walser, that is with the base in masonry and the upper part in trunks that rests on mushroom-shaped columns, while the roof is covered with slate slabs: the so-called rascard.
The only real center is Admission, seat of the municipality and the parish for almost a thousand years.
