Angelo Marino and his second degree
Angelo Marino, born in 1937, of Calabrian origins, earned his second degree in Literature atUniversity of Siena. In the chapel of the university campus of San Niccolò in Siena, home of the Department of Philology and criticism of ancient and modern literatures, the doctor bis defended his thesis entitled “My country 1937-1950”, in front of the commission and also received the homage of the Rector of the University who wanted to congratulate the new Doctor of Letters for the new goal achieved.
Angelo was supported in this journey by his entire family: his two daughters are university employees, and some of his brothers.
Angelo's passion for literature has never waned, cultivated with interest despite family and work commitments. He was about to obtain a degree in Literature in 1974 but had to abandon it shortly before writing his thesis. He has always cultivated a love for writing, to which he dedicated himself after retirement.
Angelo Marino, an example to follow
Like other characters we have told you about, Angelo is a shining example for those who believe that there are age limits to achieving their goals. Angelo wanted to study: born to a peasant family, he went to school but helped his family by herding sheep. His profit was excellent and his father decided to indulge his potential by sending him to study in Siena. In the Tuscan city he studied and worked as an instructor for the deaf and dumb in an institute. Mr. Angelo has always worked and studied.
Angelo's is intended to be a stimulating example for many young people who abandon their studies or dreams.
The first degree and career
Mr. Marino had obtained the first degree in Law on the topic of criminal law in 1962, with a thesis on activities related to fraud. He worked as a lawyer and then served as municipal secretary in some municipalities in Piedmont, Liguria, Umbria and Tuscany, including Montalcino, Sinalunga and Cortona, before finishing his career as General Secretary of the Province of Siena.
Best wishes to the new doctor who now also dreams of a doctorate.
