The singer-songwriter Aleandro Baldi, 63, is about to return with a new album, after a long period of silence. Anticipated by the new single "Non mi serve niente", a deep and very catchy song, the new work, composed of seven tracks, written by him, is titled Aleandro Baldi 2.0. The project is conceived by the record companies Michael Schembri e Luciano Nicolini. Among the main producers, Giorgio Fiore, who is also taking care of all the arrangements.

Aleandro Baldi, Sanremo '94

Baldi, born in Greve del Chianti (Florence), was discovered in the 80s by Giancarlo Bigazzi. In 1992 he achieved success by winning the Festival of Sanremo in the New Proposals category, when, in pairs Frances Alotta, sings the song “Don't love me”. Two years later, still in Sanremo, she wins with the song Passerà, in the big category. The new disc also contains a new version of "Non amarmi" performed together with the group "Le Dolce vita". We caught up with him to chat a bit with him and let us reveal some more details about the album that will be released soon.

Aleandro, how has your professional life changed since 1992, the year of your consecration in Sanremo with "Non Amarmi", until today?

«From a professional point of view, at the time I was followed by a "hen" producer like Giancarlo Bigazzi. Today, despite being followed by a trusted team, there is no longer this type of "figure", so, compared to the past, it happens that you have to make choices on your own. However, the change has also come on a personal level: compared to the past, I have acquired new awareness following many experiences that have made me a different person today».

In the past few days, you told the press that you wouldn't rewrite this song, why?

«I wouldn't rewrite it because when I wrote it I had a profound lack of self-esteem. Today this is no longer the case and this is certainly one of the changes that have marked my life path».

In 2009 you received the "Mia Martini Special Award" for bringing Italian music to the world. What did this recognition mean for you?

«They are certainly important awards starting from the assumption that they are delivered by admirers and appraisers of a high-profile artist like Mia Martini. So it's an honor for me."

Among the songs you wrote and sang, which one do you feel more yours?

«The first ones I wrote, even before 92, and all the ones I'm writing now and which will be released in the new album Aleandro Baldi 2.0».

How do you experience your blindness and to what extent has it influenced your career?

«I live my blindness really well, normally, as if it didn't exist. And I too, like everyone else, try to look, and I look, in my own way. We should all make this effort. It often happens to come across people who see, but don't really look. And it is precisely this, more than the blindness itself, that has influenced my personal life and my career. In fact, I have often been the subject of labels and definitions, such as that of a sad person, which in reality does not suit me at all. Like any label, really."

How important is music in your life and what inspires you?

«To inspire me is life itself with all its thousands of emotions, sensations, daily facts. Music allows you to express yourself always and in relation to any idea, theme, concept. How much does it matter? Very. It's a part of me. Even if I never ask myself how much it matters, rather I express myself with and through it and that's it».

You taught music to primary school children. What experience was it?

«It was and still is today a very touching experience. I like to empathize with children and try to find out what they may have inside».

Who is Aleandro Baldi in everyday life?

«A man who always tries to grow, every day, for himself and in his relationship with others».

You are about to return to the general public with a new album. What is it about?

“The songs on the new album talk about personal life experiences from 2007 onwards and touch on topics that value people like social workers, musical entertainers, generational relationships and much more that you will discover soon!”.
