Italian Chefs Finalist

Agnese Gigliotti, a dream come true

Agnese Gigliotti, with strokes of traditional dishes, exalting the Calabrian cuisine, won. Twenty professional chefs, twenty competing regions and only one winner. Agnes convinced everyone. It was measured in direct challenges, in adrenaline going and returning. In the final he beat the Lazio chef of the “Maledetti Toscani Restaurant”, Ciro Del Pezzo. Agnese Gigliotti was awarded the title of best regional cook in her early twenties. It has conquered the superfine palates of the starred chefs Gennaro Esposito and Cristiano Tomei. The first dish Agnese prepared were the “gnocchi sardella, fennel and wild chicory” which, however, did not totally convince the judges.

The first heat, in fact, was won by Ciro. Agnese Gigliotti did not give up, but she found the strength to react and to give her best. The second dish proposed was a dip in Calabria. In its flavors, in its smells, in the fruits of its land. A typical dish, “mulingiani chini”, revisited with mint and bergamot oil. A dish that lets the hearth relive, that smells of home, craftsmanship and speaks of Agnese. Of that Agnese Gigliotti who leads the “Calabria al Cubo” farmhouse with tenacity and perseverance. That Agnese who managed to raise the name of Lamezia and who made his Calabria known and recognized by countless spectators.

Agnese Gigliotti: love for cooking and for her land

Agnese Gigliotti certainly still has a long way to go, but she is already a shining example of Italian excellence. After having attended the Liceo Scientifico of Lamezia Terme, she enrolled at the University of Flavors in Perugia, a gastronomic reality recognized nationally and internationally. After completing the training course last May, she entered the kitchens of the farm thanks to chef Luigi Lepore. In the interviews, in the episodes of Cuochi d'Italia, Agnese did nothing but thank the mentor who welcomed her under his protective wing. The teachings, advice and suggestions made her conquer the reins of the farmhouse kitchen after Lepore decided to embark on new paths.

Agnese has devoted her life to cooking; his time revolves around research and culinary experimentation. An experimentation based on the quality of the ingredients used. Products that are often km0, organic and that grow a few steps from where he works. Agnese's victory is not just personal. The title won represents all the young people who decide, amidst a thousand adversities, to stay in the beautiful country. Agnese embodies the spirit of all those kids who struggle daily to live their reality, who want to conquer their space and who want to make their dreams come true.
