It is the last of the Lucanian attractions, inaugurated with great fanfare in Sasso Castalda (Power). It is a long one Tibetan bridge more than 300 meters long suspended between the two sides of a valley at a height of 120 meters.
An exciting experience, so much so that before facing it you have to cross another "training" bridge, 95 meters long and 70 meters high. Once on the other side of the valley, take a path that leads to the start of the bridge to the Moon proper.
It is certainly exciting because the bridge obviously swings, but safety is total because you are harnessed and secured to the lifesaving ropes with two usual carabiners and you walk on fairly wide support steps.
The crossing takes about half an hour and the view sweeps over the town and the surrounding mountains. Upon arrival there are the ruins of an ancient castle and a glass skywalk suspended over the bridge. From there, walking a short downhill stretch on the stone stairways, you return to the beautiful historic center.
On the way of a witch in love
Le Lucanian Dolomites, in the province of Potenza, are a particular geological formation that with its peaks and spiers recall the Trentino blades, even if the type of rock is different. It is also a perfect habitat for the eagle.
At their feet, at an altitude of 1000 meters, there are the villages of Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa, facing each other, two of the most beautiful villages in Italy and true balconies with a wonderful view of the mountains.
The two villages are connected by an ancient sheep track of about 2 km which descends to the bottom of the valley and climbs up the high side. The Path of the Seven Stones which draws inspiration from the ancient legend of a certain Vito, struck by a love spell by a beautiful witch. Along the way there are seven stone art installations that tell the story.
Halfway there is an ancient Roman bridge and from there two via ferratas start: the Salemm, which leads to Castelmezzano, 1731 meters long with a difference in height of 249 meters and the Marcirosa, which leads to Pietrapertosa, 1778 meters long with a vertical drop of 331 meters.

The Angel Flight. Harnessed and attached to a pulley, you descend at a speed of up to 120 km per hour on a zipline, a steel cable stretched between the two locations. A wonderful and exciting experience because you really have the feeling of flying while looking at the view.
The Flight of the Angel provides a round trip. A shuttle takes you from the parking lots in Castelmezzano (Potenza) in Basilicata to the base of the Spire. It is from there that you start, then you have to go up a climb, not long but steep, before the flight.
Once on the other side you have all the time you want to visit Pietrapertosa, the highest town in Basilicata, with its ancient Arabata district founded by the Saracens, from whom it takes its name and the ruins of the XNUMXth century castle.
Castelmezzano it is a real nativity scene clinging to the foot of the rocky pinnacles. A path and steps carved into the rock lead up to the top.
