Zavattarello

Zavattarello, Most Beautiful Village in Italy in the province of Pavia, it is worth a visit not only for the Castle of the famous captain of fortune in the service of the Visconti Jacopo Dal Verme.

First of all, the millenary stones are set in one of the most evocative environments of the Oltrepò Pavese mountain, which recalls the pleasant visions of the Umbrian or Tuscan hills. We are in Val Tidone where the Ligurian Apennines slopes down towards the Po.

It is a valley suspended in time, where the Story it can be read everywhere, in the agricultural landscape shaped by man as in castles, ancient churches and abbeys.

The village, still partly surrounded by walls, is crossed by a narrow and sinuous street and by numerous passages built in a radial pattern towards the fortress above.

Zavattarello, in the soft landscape of the Oltrepò.
