The historical itinerary for the growth of Vietri ceramics
After a series of decorations drawn from other cultures, around 1500 the Vietri ceramics identify their own artistic personality. Thus in southern Italy the word of the ceramic "factory" that produces directly for the nearby Abbey of Cava, a few kilometers away, spread rapidly.
The proximity to the mills is then fundamental for the success of the artistic laboratory of Vietri ceramics. With the majolica in turquoise, orange and greenish, the Vietri ceramics are starting to appear also in the Neapolitan area.
This export meant that the seventeenth century was a very flourishing period given the satisfaction of the Neapolitan trade and the success of a copious diffusion. Within a century, the Vietri ceramics captured the attention of Sicily.

Afterwards, the collaboration with Stüdemann, Dölker, Irene Kowaliska, Elle Schwarz will also give further value to the small laboratory. A synchrony linked to the esteem for the art of ceramics immediately starts with these artists. An ever faster connection with the rest of Europe.
