Russel, in love with Italy

Russell Crowe, is showing that he loves our country. In the capital, last October, she received the title of ambassador of Rome in the world by the Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri.

The artist proved to be highly sensitive and performing on June 7 in Bologna he wanted to donate the proceeds of the concert to the Emilian flood victims. An act that has even more tied the Italians to the actor.

After the fatigue of the tour, Russel wanted to carve out some well-deserved rest by deciding to visit some places in our beautiful country, enchanted by history, art, culture and good food.

A stop in Rome and a visit inside the Colosseum where he was held back by many fans who saw him as the protagonist of the arena as he had been years ago in the film that made him famous. After spending a few days in the capital, also stopping at Ostia Antica, where he once again joked about his role in 'Gladiator' which earned him theOscar in 2001.

Moving south he also visited the Pompeii excavations and, in particular, the path focused on gladiators, also admiring the daily life and history of Rome live.

Russel, everywhere offers himself to fans to sign autographs, take selfies, give simple smiles, without the arrogance of a big star.  Recite the lines that made him famous inside the Colosseum, photograph the streets of Pompeii, immortalize the orange Calabrian sunsets, go around festivals. And on social media he writes “wonderful day with wonderful people”.

Russell and the love for our country: the post on Twitter

What struck the most are the words he addressed to our country: “Italy is a gift from the Gods. To be loved, to be respected, to be honoured” caption placed under the photo he took in Strombolicchio, on his tour of the Aeolian Islands.

Crowe was then spotted at Palermo airport, ready to go home with eyes full of wonders and many emotions in his heart.

Russell on holiday in Sicily

In the last few hours, before returning home, Crowe, after having toured the Mediterranean with a yacht, has decided to visit some cities in Sicily. It was sighted in Catania at Porto Rossi where the yacht was moored; you then moved to Taormina, the pearl of the Ionian Sea, having lunch in a restaurant in the center and enjoying a granita in a local historian. Subsequently he moved to the Aeolian Islands, in particular Lipari, Stromboli remaining fascinated by the landscape and the nature of those dream places.

Crowe fully shares what Goethe said during his Grand Tour:

"Italy without Sicily produces no image in the soul; only here is the key to everything. "

The artist has also dedicated a tweet to the legendariesin Fata Morgana, the very particular optical phenomenon observable on the Strait of Messina, caused by the presence of molecules of rarefied water suspended in the air which, in particular weather conditions, are able to "project" images of the opposite coast into the sky and onto the water by exploiting the reflection of the sea.

We thank Russel Crowe for his testimony of love and affection for our country.
