Naval Academy Regatta, among the longest regattas in the Mediterranean: 630 miles starting from Livorno, proceeding to Porto Cervo and Naples; to then return to the port of the Tuscan city. The Livorno Yacht Club is located at the entrance to the Medici Port, in the Forte della Bocca, from which the chain that closed the port was pulled, preventing the entry of enemy ships.

Naval Academy Regatta

For many years, it Livorno Yacht Club organized the Academy Trophy in honor of the Navy Academy. Since 2018, for the offshore part, the Academy Trophy has become the Naval Academy Regatta (RAN), or a competition with which the Livorno Yacht Club - with the collaboration of the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club, the Royal Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia of Naples and the Yacht Club Repubblica Marinara of Pisa, celebrates the Naval Academy and its traditions.

For this, the Naval Academy Regatta it leaves from Livorno, passes through Porto Cervo and Naples returning to Livorno, without any restrictions. It is repeated every year on the days when the students of the Naval Academy can participate in the event. The 2023 edition of Ran 630, in full swing, was presented at showroom of Officine Gullo in Milan. The regatta is open to all boats over 9,50 meters long, monohull or multihull, with ORC and/or IRC certificate.
