Il Lecce it is not only a surprise on the pitch, but it is also a surprise from a corporate point of view. In today's edition of Journal of Sport, an in-depth analysis is dedicated to the corporate growth of the team led by Saverio Sticchi Damiani.
Lecce and the Mencucci "move": self-sufficiency
Lecce has entrusted Sandro Mencucci with the task of making the club self-sufficient from a financial point of view. The first results can already be seen, also helped by the brilliant transfer market moves of Pantaleo Corvino who sold Morten in the summer Hjulmand for 20 million at Sporting Lisbon, after purchasing him for just over 200 thousand euros.
According to the in-depth analysis of the Gazzetta dello sport, Lecce, after years of great economic difficulty with a deficit of 27 million after the relegation in 2020, has managed to get back on track and this year the budget is already in the black, while it is estimated that next year there may be a balance with assets of around 10 million. Mencucci dictated some numbers regarding the club's revenues "which in Serie A are around 55 million". Of these proceeds, over 60% comes from tv rights (“around 36-38 million”). Really important numbers also due to the fact that the stadium is always packed with spectators and passion (Check out the Serie A season ticket rankings here). In short, Lecce remains a sporting and economic model.
