Eleonora Albanese is a multifaceted, cheerful, funny, original artist with a galloping fantasy. She is a painter who plays with colors and shapes, her paintings have a unique style. Eleonora has a personality volcanic and attractive which also expresses in song, sculpture and writing.

Eleonora, your latest book is called The desperate (unsolved) cases of Dr. Snaus published by Bertoni publisher. How was born in the ironic and lively mind of Eleonora Albanese the idea of this book that intrigues and attracts already from the title and cover.

This book was born as a collage of hundreds of sketches that I have kept over the years, since I was a young girl. While I was cutting them out to glue them, I realized I was surprised at how absurd some were and portrayed delusional characters, until it came spontaneously to give them an invented personality and immediately afterwards I thought it could be a catalog of a somewhat funny analyst, a bit crazy to whom I gave the invented name of Dr. Snaus. In short, a great game of imagination and of irony certainly, since I love to make others laugh. But every now and then you might also find some food for thought on the things of life, which never hurts.

Eleonora Albanese with her latest book

Eleonora Albanese is a multifaceted artist, with an inner richness that she expresses not only in writing but also and above all in painting. How important is painting in your life?

Painting is a very important meditative space and it gives me the opportunity to express my emotions that sometimes writing them, even writing a lot, would embarrass me. Having to deal with colors and shapes that may have been invented, every time is a journey equal to the oneiric one, essential for me. And I believe for all those who paint.

And again, you sing, play the guitar, create sculptures, have made theater. Do you ever get bored?

In short, many of these things I do very badly, like playing the guitar, but for me every means is good to express myself. The tour of C gave me great satisfaction in composing the songs. No, I never get bored, not even when I'm on a sofa doing nothing. I am never afraid of not having ideas or things to do so fortunately I also know how to relax, a necessary act for reflection and invention.

The symbol of the sun is often present in your words, in your paintings, in what you wear. What does it mean for you?

The sun is light and without light, although darkness is also fascinating, there is no vitality. However, it is not my most recurring drawing to be honest. I paint many faces of women, birds and fish. But the sun is inherent even when I don't depict it.

Looking at her facebook and instagram profiles it is evident that you are not only a talented woman but also very nice and funny. What relationship do you have with social networks?

For years I have loved Facebook very much. When humans still talked (without necessarily attacking each other) and friendships were carried on with emotion, shared play and also many serious topics but treated with respect and delicacy. Since the automatic keys have taken over to replace almost completely every emotional expression made with words, I often find myself uncomfortable, but over time I have in my small way carried forward the old idea of social media and for which I continue to write for extended and luckily I also have friends who do like me. Instagram is a very nice gallery of images. When I have nothing to tell in words, I go there to share pictures. Anyway, being on the internet allows me to show my artwork, which could help. The fact remains that if I can make a post to make others laugh, even the smiley faces that burst out laughing are fine with me. Laughing is as bright as the sun.

What are your plans for the future?

I have never made plans except in the very short term, I am instinctive in everything and if I organize myself I feel bad, so I would certainly talk about desires rather than projects. What is going on is getting my newly edited book to be known by at least a million people and I'm looking for a way to make it happen. What do you say, can you give me a hand to make my wish come true?

So thank you, on June 19th, it's my birthday, and as a gift I have already asked all my contacts to share the link to the book on the Bertoni publisher's website, to which I promised, among other things, that with the sales we would bought the boat, and to this day perhaps he may have bought the first oar. However that may be, my pleasure will be to make a larger number of people laugh and think. Thanks to those who have read, and first of all to the entire editorial team of italiani.it and in particular to Paola Stranges.
