Carnival biscuits: which procedure to follow?

To make today's recipe, whip the margarine (which you have softened) together with the icing sugar, until you get a kind of frothy mixture. Then add the egg and continue mixing until the ingredients are well blended. Then, sift the flour 00 and add to the mixture. Continue to mix everything until you get a stick. Then add a cup of milk: in this way the dough will not be excessively crumbly. Leave to rest for about two hours in the fridge wrapped in cling film. After, take your pastry and roll it out on a floured surface. Alternatively, you can work the dough by placing it between two sheets of baking paper. Using a cookie cutter, create different round shapes. In one of the two cookies, reproduce the shape of the eyes and mouth.

Our cookies are ready to taste

Put them on dripping pans that you had previously lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. Then take them out of the oven and let them cool. Then put a layer of jam on one part of the biscuits and close them with the other half of the biscuit that reproduces the eyes and mouth. Make them adhere well. Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie and dip the top of the biscuits. Sprinkle the part dipped in chocolate with colored sprinkles. To attack the smarties you can use a mixture made with water and sugar. Then place them on a wire rack so that the chocolate can dry. How tasty!

Conservation method

We suggest you place them under a glass or plastic container, away from heat sources. Also because you risk melting the chocolate.

Suggestions

You can vary the flavors of the jam, also because it all depends on the preferences of those who are going to taste the biscuits. Alternatively, you can also use hazelnut cream. It will give a more chocolaty touch! Rather than using the colored sprinkles, you can also add the sugar grains.

We just have to wish you a lot of fun in the kitchen and a good appetite!
