Giuseppe Fiorello is the lieutenant pilot of the Royal Army Francesco Baracca, who for his merits will be promoted to major, in the meantime assuming command of the 91st Squadron, the "Squadriglia dei aces". Romagnolo, sanguine, instinctive and courageous, charming and cultured, generous, but never unnecessarily devoted to sacrifice. Baracca is remembered as “the Ace of Aces” for having achieved the highest number of aerial victories among Italian pilots of the Great War. In fact, he had the upper hand in 34 battles by shooting down as many enemy aircraft. The daring pilot established himself in the collective imagination of the Italian people as a national hero. His death, which occurred at the age of 30 on 19 June 1918 during a mission on Montello, aroused great emotion.
