The president of the council of ministers Giorgia Meloni and the new 24 ministers have sworn in the hands of the president of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. Meloni, the first female premier in Italian republican history, recited the pragmatic formula from memory, without looking at the text. The new government took the oath at the Quirinal Palace; then Prime Minister Meloni and all the ministers posed for the usual photo with the head of state.
