A welcome surprise for the fratelli Bianconi, owners of the hotel, who expected everything except one such candidacy. But what made it even more epic was the final victory. He thought about collecting the prize Vincenzo, one of the two brothers, visibly moved because it is a milestone reached after a difficult year. In fact, last year part of central Italy was hit by a series of earthquakes that caused numerous victims and damage to the local economy. It was therefore not easy to leave, get back on your feet and continue to pursue your dreams.
Palazzo Seneca: the most beautiful hotel in Italy
Built in 1500, the property has housed the Palazzo Seneca hotel for over a century. Over the years it has immediately various renovations, always following anti-seismic criteria. This made the whole complex one of the most stable and secure buildings in the area. With the recent earthquakes, in fact, the damage was very limited and no major interventions were needed. With the reopening of the historic center of Norcia, the hotel was able to resume its activity. However, the head chef, after the earthquake, had decided to leave the Umbrian city. A big problem for the Bianconi brothers since the restaurant in the Palazzo Seneca itself was the only one with one Michelin star throughout the region. Fortunately they managed to hire the chef Valentino Palmisano, considered among the best in Italy. And after some restoration works, the hotel has regained the scene it deserved, even winning the award as the best hotel in Italy 2017.
