Who said that sport is not a job for women?

It is not the stars of swimming, football or volleyball who grind successes and collect medals. These valiant women work behind the scenes and try to make their way into a still very masculine world. A world that revolves around various sports practiced at a competitive level.

This is a rapidly growing sector. A sector that offers interesting and woman-friendly career opportunities. Few people know the Italian sport system, which is not just made up of football.

Today we need trained professionals, able to work both with athletes and with the companies involved. The possibilities are many. They range from positions in marketing and communication to those related to the organization of events, the management of sports facilities, up to managerial roles in sports companies or institutions.

How was your passion for sport born?

C: “I've always loved playing football. As a child, I went secretly to train with the boys ".

G: “I've always been very sporty. Even today, if I see a ball, I go back to being a child and I start playing ”.

A: “During the university, my passion for football exploded. I started following the team of my city and I never stopped being a fan ”.

How did you turn your passion for sport into a job?

How did you turn your passion for sport into a job?

C: Some friends who work in the world of football convinced me to try. So I decided to take a course to become a sports attorney. A course that gave me the legal basis necessary to do this job.

G: I started 4 years ago working alongside a friend. Then I attended the coaching course. It is a job that I love. For me volleyball is everything and I am happy to be able to pass on my experience not only technical but also of life to other girls.

A: 5 years ago I met my current husband. A knight, who was suspended by the Federation at the time. I proposed to follow his trial and so I started studying sports law. It went well because instead of the suspension, he got a written warning. From that moment on, I legally follow his entire family. They are all knights.

Lo sports is a world closed to women?

C: There aren't many prosecutors in Italy. The problem may be that few of us believe it. Maybe someone gives up at the first difficulties. For now, I do not see closures or prejudices towards me.

G: Until a few years ago it was a very masculine world. There are now more women working in volleyball. Fortunately, I have never had any major problems.

A: A lawyer who follows athletes, contracts, sponsorships is well received. Just don't get close to football, a world in which I felt a strong closure. Maybe even for my young age.

Italiani.it thanks these 3 brave women for their precious testimony. We are women and we must never give up in any sector!
