Sanremo Festival, the evening dedicated to covers enthuses and excites. The duets between the competing singers and the big super guests once again sent the Sanremo public into a frenzy, both at the theater and the millions of spectators who followed the festival from home.

The singing marathon ended late at night as always and saw the impeccable Amadeus at the helm of the festival with his 'right arm' Gianni Morandi, always up to the task. Female presenter of the fourth evening was the actress Clare Francini who captivated the public with his irony, elegance and skill by alternating comic gags with moments of profound reflection. Francini, like the other co-presenters of the other evenings, brought a monologue to the Ariston centered on a very strong theme: missed motherhood. During the evening, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to her Peppino DiCapri, record holder of the festival with 15 participations. The singer performed a very famous piece by him on the piano, "Champagne”, which the audience sang in chorus.

Yesterday, February 10 was Remembrance Day dedicated to the martyrs of Foibas. For the occasion, Amadeus read a passage from Gigliola Alvisi's book 'The little girl with a suitcase', dedicated to the story of Egea Haffner, "one of the most authentic testimonies of the tragedy experienced by thousands of Italians from Istria, Dalmatia and Venezia Giulia in the post-war period”. In the background, the black and white photo of little Egea, with the writing 'Esule giuliana 30001', which has become the symbol of the Julian-Dalmatian tragedy.
The boys of “Mare fuori” also dream of freedom and a second chance“: the cast of the cult series set in an imaginary juvenile detention center took the Ariston stage to sing the theme song “O' mar for”. Great expectations for the last evening which tonight will see all the singers in the competition perform on the stage of the festival, between favorites and last minute surprises, Italy will be glued in front of the TV: criticisms and controversies will not fail but like every year the festival survives everything because Sanremo is Sanremo.
