The clear division between Central-Northern and Southern Italy emerges, with the northern provinces maintaining their dominance in quality of life. In 2023, out of 107 provinces examined, 63 show a good or acceptable quality of life, confirming the trend of previous years. This predominance is evident especially in the regions of the Alpine arc, central and eastern, in the Po Valley and in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, with influences that extend towards Tuscany, Umbria and Marche.

Looking at the lower part of the ranking, 2023 maintains continuity compared to 2022, with Crotone, Messina and Caltanissetta who retain their less favorable positions. The dimensions examined in the survey range from business and work to the environment, education and training, population, crime, income and wealth, social security, health system and free time.
