Eating just for the sake of it, exceeding in the right measure in indulging in the pleasures of food and drink, in other words: greed. It is one of the deadly sins that most do gola to the human being. But it is not our intention to judge you as sinners, but invite you to wear this evil dress. Like? With one of the novelties capable of leaving us speechless, but only until we have brought the finger to the height of the lips. We are talking about the Nutella finger biscuits.
From Tuscany with fury
Tired of lifting the spoon? Eager to literally bite into the cream covered utensil? Sometimes dreams can become reality, almost. A designer from Carrara by the name Paolo Ulian (but for some already nicknamed God) invented a wafer toe cover to dip into creams and the like. The evil idea came to his mind while observing his niece, while with her hand she was digging into a jar of Nutella. Given the difficulties of the little girl in recovering all the cream from the jar and - above all - the voracity with which he bit his fingers, has seen fit to invent some cookies to put on our phalanges. It all happened way back in 2004, with the presentation which took place during an exhibition in Bolzano on new biscuit concepts (yes, there are also such events).
But then? About two years after the Ferrero, an evil multinational that aims to conquer the world with its sweets, has bought Paolo's patent. The purpose? Match them with one of the brand's iconic products: the Nutella. Hence the birth of the Nutella finger biscuits. But rest assured, if you haven't seen them at the supermarket this is not a plot warp against you. Ferrero has simply "set aside" the project, denying humanity the most ingenious invention since wheel , PlayStation. Every so often this news comes back into vogue, with the hope of reading an official press release from the Italian company: "the famous finger biscuits are now on sale: go and burglarize the shops".
Between Nutella, Pan di Stelle and… Rossana
But why is it being talked about so much in recent weeks? According to some, it would be a move by Ferrero in response to another event that many have been waiting for. We are talking about the Butter Pan di Stelle, the one who in no uncertain terms has been defined the true rival of Nutella. Media attention has therefore shifted to this new product, forcing the competition to come up with something to get the flock back on the right path. So here is the exhumation of finger biscuits or - and this is real news - the launch of the Rossana spreadable cream.
Yes, you got it right. If you haven't been hungry up to here, you can hardly resist now. Shortly after the launch of the Pan di Stelle cream, the Perugina has decided to face the enemy head on. How? By launching the cream of one of the most sold candies from grandparents to grandchildren on the market: the Rossana.
In short, in the space of a few months Nutella has seen two new rivals on the market, so it is easy to understand that, probably, all this is just a way to bring attention back to itself. However, we do not give up, with the hope of one day being able to bite our fingers without ending up in the emergency room.
