Covid emergency, contagion curve rising again while the government reshapes the vaccine plan and thinks of a new Dpcm. According to data from the Ministry of Health, 24 new positive cases and 9.660 victims have been registered in the last 499 hours. Yesterday there were 7.925 positive tests, 329 dead. There are 244.429 tests (molecular and antigenic swabs) carried out today in our country, with a positive rate compared to new cases equal to 3,9%. A figure down by 1,7% compared to yesterday.
There are 2.214 people admitted to intensive care, therefore 38 fewer than yesterday, in the balance between entries and exits. The daily admissions are 158. The hospitalized with symptoms are instead 20.317, therefore 57 more than yesterday. The discharged healed today are 18.976 (yesterday 13.975), while overall the positive cases are 437.765, 9.824 less than yesterday.
Remodeling of the vaccine plan
The Minister of Regional Affairs Francesco Boccia has convened for tomorrow, February 3, the summit with the Regions. A meeting to take stock of the new vaccine plan in light of the cuts announced by the pharmaceutical companies and the green light for the Astrazeneca vaccine. The Minister of Health will also be present at the meeting, scheduled for 17.30 pm Roberto Speranza and the Emergency Commissioner Dominic Arcuri.
Towards a new Dpcm
From now to mid-February, based on the trend of the contagion curve, a new Dpcm will most likely be launched by the government. Friday 5 March will expire on Dpcm January 14, 2021, and with it the implementation of the decree itself. In any case, it seems certain that the zoning of the regions will remain for months to come. Meanwhile, observers and experts look to the date of 15 next February, when they expire or in any case four key points of the last Dpcm will have to be revised.
These are the ban on moving between yellow regions, the closure of ski resorts, the ban on contact sports and the suspension of public administration competitions. We will see if there will be a restart for these sectors, as many expect. But of course, everything will depend on the progress of the health emergency that has been going on for a year now.
