The new emojis, the ones that Apple will introduce on iPhone, iPad and Mac, they also speak Italian. And they do it with a gesture, graphically translated rather well, which in Italy is used and is continually declined. The closed hand with the fingers group in a bunch upwards, to formulate a series of questions without the use of words: what does it mean, what you want, what you say, what you do, where are you going ... and so on. It goes without saying that the graphic translation (which is fixed and not mobile like gifs) of this very Italian expression gives it a rather flat meaning ... In the sense that, when the person making the gesture is a person in flesh and blood, its interpretation varies according to the movement of the wrist, the expression of the eyes and of the face in general, in some cases also according to the use of a verbal expression. But anyhow, we are now in the age in which everything or almost everything can be expressed with sad or smiling, sulky or tearful faces… it doesn't matter if the truest meaning is not clear. The important thing is to convey the idea.
This new expressive model, because it has become such above all for the younger generations, is enriched with the arrival of autumn. There are 117, counting the different combinations of people and skin colors, the new emojis introduced by the update of the iOS 14.2 operating system that from this month will be available on Apple smartphones. Seventy-four had already arrived last year, now with these innovations we are almost 200 new voices in this digital vocabulary that is revolutionizing our language. Language that is updated respecting, as far as possible, new trends and politically correct.
The new politically correct emoji, a woman in a tuxedo and a man with a wedding veil
Let's take a look at how we can enrich our digital conversations. In the new emoji pack we find, for example, a man bottle-feeding a baby and another with a wedding veil.
Counterbalance the pictogram of a female figure in a tuxedo. And among the novelties, the flag and the transgender symbol. For the upcoming Christmas holidays we will have many Santa Claus faces, with different skin colors and genres. We will also like to use two national symbols as needed, such as the Russian matryoshka and the Australian boomerang. Summer is over but we are ready for the next one with the flip flop emoji.
Blueberries, peppers, focaccia ... a seal and a black cat among the Apple emojis
We could report that we are drinking tea with a nice teapot. And speaking of food, we will now also have stuffed olives, blueberries, peppers and focaccia, as well as Tamal roll and fondue. The Ninja arrive and also a military helmet. Among the animals make their entry the mammoth and the bison, the fly and the cockroach, a really cute and pure seal ... the black cat. Thanks to these new emojis we will also be able to talk about anatomy, with heart and lungs drawn in a very realistic way. And then the bucket and the mirror, the toothbrush and the screwdriver, the accordion and even a magic wand!
A beautiful smiley face but with a tear that falls will help us to tell sometimes contradictory feelings. And we will love to use, hopefully soon, the new emoji of two people (no face, no color, no gender, it reminds us a lot of Magritte's Lovers) hugging. The meaning of a gesture that in these Hard times we hope to recover as soon as possible.
