In Andria, precisely in the San Valentino district, the street artist Daniele Genius has created a mural dedicated to Gino Strada, founder of Emergency. All with the assistance of Michele Stellacci.
The portrait appears on a wall of 12 meters by 10 meters and the push to create it came from Cpia Bat Gino Strada, directed by Paolo Farina. It was decided to opt for a well-known photo, one in which his gaze is turned to the horizon, hopeful. Eyes on the future and here is the message that accompanies the work: “On the side of human beings, of the weak, of those in need, from the bottom to the top”.
Daniele Geniale expressed himself in this way about Gino Strada, who now stands majestically after the conclusion of his work. Here is the thought of him: "A doctor, a giant. I chose to make this painting focusing on the definition of his gaze, more than on the rest of the subject. I wanted to communicate in every way the great strength and hope that this man has been able to place in solidarity. He taught us to doubt, to military and to be uncomfortable in a world where the narrative is often in line with the political agenda ”.
