Il day X for Italian workers, long awaited by some, feared by others, it has finally arrived. Today, 15 October 2021, Mandatory green pass at work has become reality. In recent weeks, the “people of the NO-Green Pass"Tried to change the minds of the institutions with demonstrations and protests, but to no avail. The workers of both the public both of private, from today, they will therefore have to show their own green certification to be able to continue working. However, this type of measure had already been adopted for the school world. Since September, in fact, teachers e school staff they can access the school only if they have a Green pass. For many, October 15 also marks the back to work in the office. In fact, not all private companies will continue to have their employees work in smart working and the same is true for the public administration. Of course, those who work from home will not need the Green pass.

Compulsory green certification: freelancers and logistics

Another category subject to a compulsory green pass for work is that of freelancers. To access a workplace (public or private), in fact, these must be equipped with green certification. For example this is mandatory for i magistrates (even if it isn't for lawyers, experts o consultants). In the case of maid e carersinstead, they will be required to show it to the employer, while the same is not true for hydraulic, runners, electricians etc. The real problem is with the logistics. Many hauliers who drive on Italian roads come from foreign countries with different rules. Some are vaccinated with unrecognized vaccines in the EU (Sputnik for example) or not vaccinated at all. The same problem then arises for the ships and boats with crew members from different nations. It will now be up to the government to find a solution in the coming days to avoid strikes category and protests.

Compulsory green pass at work: free tampons at controlled prices

The arrival of the dreaded compulsory Green pass at work gave an additional shock to the Italian vaccination campaign. As reported by ANSA, the vaccination trend (first dose) grew by 46% compared to forecasts in the absence of obligation. Despite this, a part of the population (albeit a small one) will continue not to be vaccinated. Who will be free for health reasons, until 31th December, will be able to do the free swab. In other cases, the government has provided for a controlled price, or 15 € for adults e 8 € for children under 18. Participating structures that do not apply controlled prices risk penalties up to 10.000 € and up to 5 days of closure of the activity. Finally, the unsanitary pad will have a validity of 48 hours, while the molecular one of 72 hours.

In case of violation of the new rules, the workers are at risk severe penalties. We go from day of non-service (unjustified absence), with suspended salary, without accrual of contributions or holidays, up to fines from 600 ai 1.500 € for those without a Green Pass at work. The employer also risks a penalty from 400 ai 1.000 €. In any case the worker he cannot be fired. Will the arrival of the mandatory Green Pass at work and the possible sanctions be able to convince even the last skeptics of the vaccine? Will the Draghi government's strategy achieve the desired results? Will the mandatory Green pass be enough to finally stop Covid-19? While there is no definite answer yet, this seems like the best way forward.
