Weather Immaculate. An area of ​​Atlantic low pressure, identified as disturbance number 2 in December, will give rise to a short but intense period of bad weather during the day of the Immaculate Conception. They are expected locally intense rainfall, robust winds and the presence of snowflakes in the regions of the North-West, Tuscany and the two largest islands. Friday 8th will see a notable increase in the strength of the winds over the western sea, accompanied by a brief phase of snow at low altitudes in the regions of the North-West.

Immacolata weather, the forecast

In the western regions of the country, a rapid deterioration weather conditions, with rain starting in the morning in Sardinia, intensifying during the afternoon. In the North-West, they are expected scattered rains, sometimes moderate, in the Ligurian areas, in western Emilia and in western Tuscany. There will be snowfall at low altitudes in the North-West, in the Alpine areas and as far as the plains, at times mixed with rain in southern Piedmont.

At the same time, fog will develop in Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Umbria. In the South, there will be large clearings until early afternoon, with possible evening rainfall also in Sicily. Temperatures will suffer a significant drop in the northern regions and in Tuscany. Strong winds expected on the western seas and on the islands, with potential stormy gusts near Sardinia.

In the weekend

Saturday will be partly cloudy, with light residual rain in Sicily and in the morning in the south-eastern areas of Calabria and Sardinia. They will be present wider clearings in the central-eastern Alpine areas, extending to the central regions in the afternoon. They are expected dense fogs on the plains of the North-West. In the second part of the day, conditions will worsen in Val d'Aosta and in the Piedmont Alps with moderate precipitation, snow above 1200-1500 metres; in the evening, some rain will occur in Liguria.

Temperatures will increase in the North, in the central Tyrrhenian regions and in Sardinia. Winds will vary from moderate to locally strong from the north over the Sardinian Sea and from the east-northeast between the southern Ionian Sea and Sicily.
