Prepare your baby's suitcase.
It is well known that in the mountains, due to sudden changes in weather conditions, it is good practice to dress like an onion, or to have comfortable and practical clothing in your suitcase that can be overlapped or removed according to the temperature or the weather.
Before departure it is important to dedicate time and organization in order to make sure you have everything with you newborn clothing in relation to the altitude that will be reached during the holiday.
Indispensable in any season is definitely the windproof jacket, the models with hood are preferable as their lined structure proves to be ideal for sheltering the little one in case of rain and wind, even if moderate or weak.
If you are leaving for a winter holiday, you cannot miss in your suitcase a body in warm cotton or wool on which to put the ski suit, preferably in two pieces to facilitate the diaper change without having to totally discover the little one, a woolen tights or fleece cotton, socks, fleece sweaters to accompany your baby during outdoor activities. To complete it all, let's not forget the hat, which in wool or fleece carefully covers the forehead and ears as well.
For the little ones, the trousers can have a built-in or detached foot, with coordinated padded slippers.

In the cooler seasons or days, babies' hands tend to remain uncovered, which is why many overalls include padded mittens to warm the little hands. Alternatively, remember to bring gloves for your child in your backpack and, why not, even a blanket.
If, on the other hand, our trip takes place in summer or spring, let's equip ourselves with one or two short-sleeved polo shirts and a couple of t-shirts, always short-sleeved in case of pleasant temperatures. Polos are the perfect garment for warm, wind-lightened days as they are heavier than traditional cotton t-shirts.
The sun's rays are essential for human life but let's not forget that newborns are very delicate and sensitive, for this reason there are a lot of sun hats, preferably with a visor so as to offer shelter even to the eyes.
A sweatshirt or sweater is a must in the backpack to protect the little ones from any temperature changes.
Appearances are deceiving.
A completely clear sky on a hot day in the mountains can easily be misleading. Black clouds might surprise you right in the middle of a hike; the temperature drops abruptly, risking to chill your baby if you are not sufficiently equipped.
It is not unusual to observe the alternation of different climatic conditions in the mountains. It may happen that you wake up with an intense blue sky and a shining sun and then notice the arrival of clouds, which will intensify and flow into a downpour in the afternoon, finally fall into the arms of your dreams with a fairy-tale starry night.
The importance of perspiration.
In contact with your baby's skin, make sure you buy underwear that reflects the fundamental characteristics of respecting the skin.
Technical and breathable, elastic and light clothing that can dry quickly and that, even if worn, in case of severe sweating, do not leave your baby's skin soaked in moisture. A long-sleeved undershirt under your ski suit or under a warm sweater if you are in winter, short-sleeved under a t-shirt or under a shirt if you are in the warm season will shelter your little one while maintaining body heat.
