Government ministers and regional presidents step up discussions to decide on the new anti-Covid measures that will constitute the new Dpcm, in force from 6 March next. “To make it easier to plan economic activities, the closures will no longer take effect on Sunday but on Monday. The government is working intensively in these hours on the new anti-Covid measures ". These are the considerations of the Minister for Regional Affairs Mariastella Gelmini.
Meanwhile, according to data released by the Ministry of Health, today they are registered 19.886 new positive cases (yesterday 16.424). The swabs carried out are 443.704; the ICU patients are 2.168, while in home isolation they remain 375.718 subjects infected with the virus. Since the pandemic broke out, they have occurred in our country 96.974 deaths from Covid; while the positive cases recorded so far 2.868.435.
New anti-Covid measures
"For the Draghi executive, constant dialogue with the Regions and anticipating decisions is fundamental, in order to leave citizens the time they need to organize their lives". These are always the statements of the Minister of Autonomies Gelmini who met the presidents of the regions and autonomous provinces in a video conference.
"The band system will be maintained. A generalized lockdown has been averted so far and this must be the main objective also for the next few weeks and for the next months - the minister specified - As regards the postponement to Monday for the entry into force of the ordinances, this had been requested by the Regions and we have obtained it. Thus we also help the economic activities that will not lose the weekend".
Reopening of places of culture
"We are working for a gradual reopening of places of culture. Minister Franceschini has initiated a confrontation with the CTS to ensure that, after the month of March, reopening with adequate security measures can be imagined. £ It is a path, it is not an achievement yet. But it is a signal that goes in the right direction ”the minister later said.
"A signal that we hope will soon involve other economic activities - added Gelimini - We must not run the risk of giving the wrong message to the citizens but we must absolutely avert the third wave. We work, with confidence, for a gradual, responsible and careful return to normality ".
Closed schools? The government says 'no'
Almost all the Regions have asked to close the schools, according to what is learned, but the ministers Roberto Speranza and Mariastella Gelmini stressed that "it is difficult to talk about school closings on the one hand and the reopening of commercial activities on the other". In particular, the Minister of Autonomies would have pointed out "a contradiction" in the two requests of the governors. “The epidemiological situation will be assessed day by day on the closures”, said the Minister of Health.
The new anti-Covid measures and the voice of the regions
“The dialogue with the Government continues. In the face of the document presented by the Regions last week, some initial positive responses arrived this morning, but further feedback is needed on other issues.
In particular, there is a need for a decisive acceleration in terms of vaccines, a revision of the criteria for assigning the ranges and a preventive evaluation of the impact of the variants ". This was stated by the president of the Conference of the Regions, Stefano Bonaccini, at the end of today's meeting with the Ministers Gelmini and Speranza.
