Government ministers and regional presidents step up discussions to decide on the new anti-Covid measures that will constitute the new Dpcm, in force from 6 March next. “To make it easier to plan economic activities, the closures will no longer take effect on Sunday but on Monday. Meanwhile, according to data released by the Ministry of Health, today they are registered 19.886 new positive cases (yesterday 16.424). The swabs carried out are 443.704; the ICU patients are 2.168 while in home isolation they remain 375.718 subjects infected with the virus. Since the pandemic broke out, they have occurred in our country 96.974 deaths from Covid; while the positive cases recorded so far 2.868.435.

Closed schools? The government says 'no'

Almost all the Regions have asked to close the schools, according to what is learned, but the ministers Roberto Speranza and Mariastella Gelmini stressed that "it is difficult to talk about school closings on the one hand and the reopening of commercial activities on the other". In particular, the Minister of Autonomies would have pointed out "a contradiction" in the two requests of the governors. “The epidemiological situation will be assessed day by day on the closures”, said the Minister of Health.
