The Golden Ball evening is one of the most anticipated events in international football gossip. This year too, the football authorities paraded in an evening with many VIPs.
The prizes awarded
Several prizes were awarded this evening. The Kopa Trophy for the best player under 21 goes to Bellingham, the Yashin award (best goalkeeper) to the Argentine goalkeeper, made famous by his saves at the World Cup, “Dibu” Martinez. The best striker award went to Haaland. The women's football award went to Bonmati of Barcelona.
The 4 finalists for the award were: De Bruyne, Haaland, Mbappe and Messi. For the eighth time in a row, the Ballon d'Or was won by Lionel Messi.
