In the magnificent setting of the Ancient Theater of Taormina will be held the “Pavarotti Forever Gala” an initiative carried out in collaboration with the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, chaired by Nicoletta Mantovani. For the occasion, colleagues and friends of the great Italian tenor who, in his long career, has reaped successes all over the world. The gala will kick off the 'Taormina Film Fest', historical event film that inaugurates the summer season of Taormina Sicily Foundation.
Gala Pavarotti Forever
The event, scheduled for the evening of 23 June, will trace the career of the great tenor through a selection of his most famous songs. From lyrical arias to popular music songs sung by friends and notable guests, among which Placido Domingo, Marcelo Álvarez, Vittorio Grigolo, Aida Garifullina, Mario Biondi, Andrea Griminelli. Also on stage is a new generation of young artists promoted and supported by the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation: Floriana Cicio, Giuseppe Infantino, Paolo Nevi, Ettore Lee, together with the Taormina Arte Festival Orchestra conducted by Maestro Beatrice Venezi.
The musical program of the gala will be interspersed with the projection of archive videos which will show the Master Pavarotti, taken up in the course of interviews given at various points in his long career. An amarcord on the songs or works that will then be represented on stage during the evening. The proceeds of the event, net of expenses, will be donated to the Pavarotti Foundation for the granting of scholarships to young singers and new promises of the lyric.
