The numbers speak for themselves: last year there was an increase in overseas sales of Present in several = 34%. To be precise, approx 540 million kg of Italian plants, flowers and bulbs. A real record for the Italian floral market which in its history had never reached such numbers. But who are the best buyers? These numbers allow us to have a positive balance in the trade of as many as 230 million of Euro.

Trees, shrubs, outdoor bushes and various plants: these are the main products sold abroad. Many requests also for cut fronds, buttercups, tulips and carnations.
The uses are almost always addressed for ornamental purposes, especially in large cities. Indoor plants and flowers are also on the rise to decorate the home. In fact, in modern furnishings there are more and more small green corners and vegetable gardens.

The passion for Italian flowers

But how much are Italian flowers worth? The Italian horticultural sector has a production value of around 2,5 billion di euro which places it among the leading sectors of the local agricultural economy. In recent years the market has been growing rapidly, also thanks to the awareness of the problems linked to pollution. According to the data, in fact, cities are investing more and more in green areas, even if in Italy we are still below the European average.
With regard to individuals, young people between 18 and 34 appear to be the most active players in the market. Not only to be forgiven by their girlfriends, but also to decorate the house or create a small vegetable garden in the garden. Statistics say that almost 20 million Italians are dedicated to gardening, or have a passion for it anyway.
