The secret of Fiorita di Castelluccio di Norcia
La Fiorita is the prime example of what can happen when man and nature work together. A painting made by several hands. The protection of this paradise also goes through the net absence of chemicals. The environment must take its course and there is no need to impose more restrictive times.
Here are the words of In the Pearl, President of the IGP Lentil Cooperative: "I like to believe that it is because we are committed to growing lentils with the lowest environmental impact that nature rewards us every year with one of its most beautiful shows".
As mentioned, it is the terrain that dictates the times. The farmers respect the natural chronology and find out when the harvest time has come thanks to the characteristics of the wild flowers. Their changes are clear and obvious signs of the lentil life cycle.
A close communication with Pian Grande still resists today, which responds in its own way: “Just look out of your window. The colors tell us what to do ". A splendid thought of Nuncio Head, secretary of the Pro Loco Castelluccio di Norcia, who perfectly summarizes the secret behind this panorama.
