Ferrari is the title of the film directed by director Michael Mann on the life of Enzo Ferrari, the Drake, historic founder of the car manufacturer known throughout the world. The film recounts the 1957 edition of the Mille Miglia, won by Ferrari. A victory marked by a tragedy: the going off the road and the death of the driver Alfonso De Portago and nine spectators. It is a very troubled period for Enzo Ferrari: bankruptcy brought the company that he and his wife Laura built from nothing 10 years earlier to its knees. In addition to economic ruin Enzo and Laura they also suffered a serious mourning, the loss of their beloved son Dino, who passed away at the age of 24 due to an illness. The film, between private life and career, wants to narrate all the strength of the founder of the legendary car company. A man with great managerial skills, capable of facing the many vicissitudes of his life with courage and tenacity.

Ferrari, the Drake of Maranello

The mother scene of the film, that of the accident, was shot on the road that leads from Fonte Cerreto to Campo Imperatore on the Gran Sasso. The Hollywood production chose the Gran Sasso for the scenic beauty, but also for the competitiveness in terms of hospitality and organization. Other filming was done in Modena with the active collaboration of the Cinecittà workers. A highly anticipated film on the story of the Drake which should be in theaters for next Christmas and for which there is already talk of several Oscar nominations. The film which will be presented soon at the Venice Film Festival, boasts a top-notch cast.
