Eurovision Song Contest 2023: Marco Mengoni with the song "Due Vite" won the Marcel Bezençon Composer Award for best composition. A recognition assigned by the composers of the songs in competition in the final of the European song festival. This is the second Critics Award for Italy after the 2019 one won by Mahmood with the song "Money". Mengoni, who finished fourth in the final standings, gave all of himself to the Liverpool Arena which hosted the musical event.

His intense interpretation of "Due Vite" was much appreciated, with which he won the Sanremo festival in February and which he presented in a re-arranged version in Livepool. The Italian artist took the stage with the Italian and rainbow flags. Five more colours, white, pink, blue, brown and black, positioned to the side, almost like a badge, or perhaps as a reminder. And the lgbtqi flag that the Italian singer waved on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest. The flag was designed by graphic designer Daniel Quasar to make the famous rainbow flag even more inclusive.
The new colored strips are dedicated to the black community, to the transgender community, to HIV patients and to those who died carrying on the battle for rights. In an ideal connection between Kiev, which was supposed to host theEuro Vision Song Contest this year, and Liverpool, chosen as an alternative venue, the Kalush Orchestra, winner last year and spokesperson for the Ukrainian drama, she opened the 2023 final with the song Stefania. To win the victory of the 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, Sweden with the singer Loreen and the song Tattoo. This is the second affirmation for the forty-year-old artist who in 2012 defeated the competition with the song Euphoria. In second place Finland with the singer Käärijä and the song Cha Cha Cha. Third Israel with Noa Kirel and Unicorn.
