What has happened in the last period has led to an incredible expansion of online sales and the birth of many E-commerce. This is because most people have been forced to shop directly online, due to the various closures envisaged by the government, to combat the spread of the virus.

Many companies, giants and small businesses, have had to try to direct their business precisely on online sales, to try to plug the losses resulting from lost revenues. But there has also been an exponential growth of online stores, born during the pandemic.

But how did the Italians behave in front of a scenario of this type? If until a few years ago it could be safely argued that Italians were afraid of buying online, it must be said that today things have completely changed.

Italians among the first in Europe

As for online purchases, in fact, Italians now appear to be among the first in Europe. Compared to the pre lockdown period, in fact, they have been sold over 3 million products more. Very significant numbers that make us understand how widespread e-commerce is now also in Italy. The Belpaese has in fact exceeded the European average for online purchases, where there was an increase in the reference period of about 2,7 million products sold per country.

Italians turned out to be the most patient buyers. According to some statistical data, a standard delivery in our country lasted an average of 3,3 days, slightly higher than in other European countries. It seems that during the lockdown the Italians were able to wait up to 6,3 days before declaring the package late.

Importance of the courier

This has led to a change in the figure of the courier and shipping services. Now Italians trust online couriers much more, which were born like mushrooms in particular in 2020. There are some particularly popular services, such as that of YunExpress, that is yunexpress tracking, which allows you to track your parcels and know where they are at any time.

The Chinese brand has now become a real market leader. On the other hand, the relationship with China has greatly strengthened import Export that already characterized the two countries. The boom in e-commerce has also seen a growth in commercial relations with China, both as regards the import and export of products of all kinds.

As mentioned, the courier has assumed fundamental importance for Italians. Before there was little trust in these services, now it is understood how efficient they are and can guarantee speed and adequate assistance. Habits have radically changed and the economy has seen a change that perhaps had already begun in other countries. China, for example, has been a country strongly devoted to online sales for some time: just think of the fact that it has managed to reach the record of online sales, as regards retail purchases, which have surpassed direct sales in 'last year.
