David di Donatello 2022, the Italian Oscars will be delivered tonight at Cinecittà. The ceremony, broadcast live on Rai 1 starting at 21:25, will be conducted by Carlo Conti and Drusilla Foer. Piera Detassis, president of the David di Donatello - Academy of Italian cinema, added: “We bring the David back to the historic Cinecittà studios in via Tuscolana. Precisely this year in which we celebrate the centenary of dthe Ugo Tognazzi, Vittorio Gassman, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Mauro Bolognini, Carlo Lizzani. It is not easy to find the right tone to talk about cinema. We are helped by films that tell of an embrace between different generations and genres. For this edition we have many revelation faces, at the first candidacy. And then films that broaden the gaze to areas of fantasy, comics or youtuber. Among all of them it is easy to glimpse a red thread: the education of the myth of cinema and theater. Italian voices also recognized in many foreign festivals ".
Il Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini, on the 67th edition of David and on Italian cinema this is what he said. "We live in a time marked by dramatic events, such as the pandemic and the war, yet we have gone through this difficult time with an audiovisual world that has never stopped. Indeed, it has experienced a disruptive growing season. In Italy - underlined Franceschini - the government is aware of the importance of the sector and demonstrates it with the investments made. The cinema fund went from 150 million in 2014 to 400 million in 2017 and this year there are almost 750. In the Pnrr almost 7 billion are destined for culture, with a large investment of 300 million on Cinecittà, which hosts the David ceremony and which aims to become more and more a European reference ”.
