There are tens of thousands of Italians who have decided to take to the streets to shout "no to war". Slogans, posters, banners and many many flags of Ukraine and peace. From Genoa to Naples, from the far north to the islands, Italy is compact to ask for peace and take a step back for everyone. War does not lead to anything good and we must return to serenity and dialogue.

At the Colosseum there was a great torchlight procession, in Milan there are about 30 thousand people. The Milanese event was the event with the most following. In many squares there were many Ukrainians living in Italy. In many squares there was no lack of participation by student organizations. All participants with a single request: stop the barbarism of war. Here are some moments of the event in Milan.

"We want peace": photos from Italian squares

Among the major cities involved in the events and in which there was a great deal of participation, there are Milan, Syracuse, Bologna, Modena, Bolzano, Reggio Emilia, Padua, Verona.

The organization in Milan " Milano anti-fascist anti-racist mestizo and solidarity ”called a procession that developed through the streets of the city. In the city of Bologna a torchlight procession entitled "no war" was launched. In Cagliari, in Piazza Garibaldi, the procession organized by the provincial co-ordination Let's Build Peace took place. TO Lecce the procession started from piazza Sant'Oronzo, in Taranto the demonstrators met in via Anfiteatro. In the Salento square there were several Ukrainian citizens who have lived in Salento for some time. One of these explained the daily suffering that is experienced in and around Kiev. "We're terrified of what's going on. It is not fair for our children and loved ones to die. Putin must get his hands off Ukraine. Every day I hear everyone. They stay in the houses, they hide in the cellars". Harsh words that remind us of how inhumane war is.

A Roma the demonstration was attended by many people and there was a large presence of trade unions. A stage was set up on which issues relating to the Ukrainian conflict were discussed.

The other manifestations

A GenoVa many demonstrators took to the streets. From trade unions to various communities, from workers to pensioners: that of Genoa was a square full of passion with several Ukrainian citizens present who have been living here in Italy for some time now.

During the demonstration for peace in Naples, many songs and prayers were made by the demonstrators. Yellow and blue balloons, the colors of Ukraine, were released into the sky. There were many flags of peace and people filled Piazza Dante, in the center of Naples. Below, a moment of the event.
