The quarantine for those arriving in Italy could disappear, at least in relation to certain countries of origin. The vaccination campaign continues and our country, as well as others, is looking back to normal. Something that, hopefully, can last much longer than the summer period, as happened in 2020.

Stop the quarantine

Tourism restarts and there is no shortage of signs to this effect. It is possible to return for lunch and dinner outside, while respecting the curfew set at 22.00 and remaining in open spaces. Soon we will start eating indoors again, perhaps with a curfew at midnight.
Added to this are the open doors for tourists, who will not have to face the quarantine upon their arrival in Italy. It is not a question of a general "free all", mind you. However, if it falls within certain parameters, it will be allowed to arrive in the "Bel Paese" without having to confine oneself to a hotel room.

Quarantine - boy at the Airport

The date set for this purpose is 15st May and we refer to travelers arriving in Italy from European Union countries. This is what emerged from the operative table organized by Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and by Roberto Speranza, Minister of Health.

Goodbye quarantine, what to know

With the vaccination campaign more active than ever in all of Europe, from 15 May no tourists coming from Villages UE, as well as from UK e Israel, will have to undergo the mini quarantine
In order to avoid isolation, once they arrive in Italy, travelers must present a vaccination certificate or, alternatively, a swab with negative results, as well as a certificate of recovery from Covid in the last six months. A regulation identical to that currently provided for travel between the orange and red homegrown regions.

Quarantine - Covid test

To this is added another crucial element for the "return to normality". This is access to all foreign countries where vaccination has reached a high level of diffusion. To date, no go-ahead for tourists from the United States. In this regard, Covid-free flights will be enhanced (also towards Dubai, where Expo 2020 will start in June) but to suspend the mandatory quarantine it will be necessary to wait at least mid-June.
Finally, another key date is that of 16 May 2021. On this day we will kick off the Italian Green Pass. For that of a European nature, however, it will be necessary to wait until mid-June.

Covid vaccine

Covid-free islands

The plan of reopening to tourism in Italy it continues. The Covid-free islands project has not stopped, far from it. Suffice it to look at Campania, where we are working hard in this direction. Mass vaccinations in Ischia, where reservations are already required for Over 18s, in order to better organize the distribution of doses.

President De Luca also announced that Capri is officially a Covid-free island. Sicily also runs. In Salina, in the Aeolian Islands, the first phase of vaccinations was completed, involving 80% of those entitled to it. In the meantime, we continue with the smaller islands of the Aeolian archipelago, from Alicudi to Filicudi, up to Panarea, Stromboli and Lipari.
A total of well 30 Italian companies dreamlike included in this project, which includes:

  • Sicilia
  • Sardinia
  • Campania
  • Toscana
  • Puglia
  • Lazio
