Covid, a vaccine and two doses of different types: the experiment can work, the hypothesis is currently being studied in Germany. Meanwhile, as regards the infections in our country, in the last 24 hours, they have been registered 21.261 new positive cases (yesterday 21.932). The new deaths are 376 (yesterday 481); the discharged healed are 21.311 (yesterday19.620). Overall, the positive cases are 564.855 (yesterday 565.295). The swabs carried out are 359.214; in intensive care they are hospitalized 3.714 Covid patients. They also remain in home isolation 532.652 people affected by the virus.

Regarding the use of the second dose of the anti-Covid vaccine different from the first administered “it is something that makes sense. This, how immunologically it can work. Except that at the moment there is no published clinical data to support it ". Thus Sergio Abrignani, immunologist and member of the CTS (Scientific Technical Committee), comments on the possible decision that the German Permanent Vaccination Commission is considering.
"As an immunologist - he continues - I am sure that using, after the first dose with Astrazeneca, one of the other two RNA vaccines approved in Europe for the second dose will work, because they immunize everyone, inducing a strong immune response against the Spike protein". However, “European rules require that before injecting anything into humans, a controlled clinical study must be carried out - continues Abrignani - and I don't know if the Germans have done one. At the moment there are no published data to this effect. In any case, the three vaccines of Astrazeneca, Pzifer and Moderna have already all been approved in Europe and for two doses ”.
The dove that brings vaccines
This morning a drawing by the artist Harry Greb appeared on the walls of the Ministry of Health: it represents a dove carrying vaccines. On the body it has an open aircraft hatch, with two bottles of anti-Covid vaccine that descend with a parachute.
