Green light for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine which will be distributed starting tomorrow. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) recognizes "possible cause-and-effect links between the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and the very rare events of cerebral thrombosis in the US". It can be read in a note from the agency which specifies, however, that the benefits outweigh the risks.
"Ema's announcement on the safety of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is good news for vaccination campaigns across the European Union." Thus the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in a post on Twitter.
184 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine in distribution
With the positive response of Ema and Aifa on the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the emergency commissioner structure is ready to assign in the various regions, starting tomorrow, the 184 thousand doses lying in Sea Practice. A target administration has already been set for each Region to be respected daily and within a week.
The goal is to give regularity and also a certain acceleration to the vaccination campaign. The new deaths are 390 (yesterday 316). The swabs carried out are 294.045 (yesterday 146.728). The positivity rate is 4,1 percent, down from 6 percent yesterday (-1,9 percent).
Always according to the ministerial data in intensive care there are 3.151 Covid patients, down 93 units compared to yesterday in the daily balance between income and expenses. The discharged healed are 22.453 (yesterday 19.669). Overall, there are currently positive cases 482.715, 10.774 cheaper than yesterday. They still remain in home isolation 456.309 people infected with virus.
