The Astrazeneca vaccine guarantees high levels of protection against the Delta variant, formerly known as Indian. This is attested by research and related data released by the British health authority Public Health England (PHE).

New York achieves herd immunity
The state of New York achieved herd immunity, meaning 70 percent of the adult population received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine. This is a milestone that allows most restrictions to be removed or made optional. Shops, restaurants, gyms can choose whether to wear a mask or not. The unvaccinated, on the other hand, will have to continue to maintain social distancing and wear a mask.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said the effort now focuses on areas where there is vaccine resistance. Meanwhile, California, the first US state to close due to the pandemic, reopens today. In fact, many of the anti-Covid restrictions are revoked, from the social distancing to the use of the mask for vaccinated people up to the capacity limits of indoor places..
