Economic crisis due to the pandemic, the support-bis decree is on the way, which could be launched by the council of ministers as early as mid-week. In this regard, it seems that, before finalizing it the Premier Draghi wants to have a clear picture of what will actually be able to reopen and, on this basis, the numbers of refreshment points could significantly change. In any case, the hope of the executive is that the document being drawn up is the last decree supporting this pandemic phase. The objective, in fact, is to proceed with a progressive reopening of all activities between now and the end of June.

As for the contagion curve, the reports arriving from the regions attest to a continuous and constant decline in the spread of the virus on the national territory. In fact, according to ministerial data, in the last 24 hours in Italy they registered 3.455 new positive cases (yesterday 5.753). The new deaths are 140 (yesterday 93). The discharged healed today are 9.305 (yesterday 9.603); altogether the positive cases are 322.891, 5991 cheaper than yesterday. The molecular and antigenic swabs carried out in the last 24 hours are 118.924 (yesterday 202.573). They are currently hospitalized in intensive care units 1.754 Covid patients (1.779 yesterday), while in home isolation they still remain 309.113 people infected with the virus (314.969 yesterday).

A new support-bis decree

While the support bis decree is being discussed by the government, regions and political parties, admissions to intensive care are finally falling. In fact, thanks to the vaccine effect on older and more fragile patients, the number of Covid patients in intensive care continues to decline. The percentage stands at 20 percent nationwide and with no region exceeding the 30 percent threshold. Threshold, beyond which it becomes difficult to take care of non-Covid patients. This is confirmed by the data of the National Agency for i regional health services (Agenas), relating to last May 16.

The percentage of beds (20%) occupied by Covid-19 patients in ordinary hospital wards also decreased. A comforting number, well below the 40 percent alert threshold identified by the Ministry of Health. Again, no region exceeds the alert threshold. To understand the extent of the decline, just think that on April 27 Covid intensive care was 30 percent nationwide. In addition, there were seven regions beyond this value. While Covid posts in internal medicine, pulmonology and infectious disease wards accounted for 32 percent of the total.
