Blue swimming in history with a silver that makes us make a good leap forward in the medal table. We are second only to the USA, and we go ahead at full speed on the third day of competition at the Olympics. Tokyo 2020 is reserving us some nice surprises. Italy "sails" between fifth and sixth place in the medal table, also thanks to the 21-year-old Nicolò Martinenghi.
Blue swimming in history
The blue takes home bronze in the 100 breaststroke, Diana Bacosi silver in skeet shooting and Daniele Garozzo silver in foil. However today it is without a doubt blue swimming to be the protagonist entering history, with a silver in the relay. After the Italian record on 100 meters dorsal, it was Ceccon from Vicenza who won the pass for the semifinal. With a hundredth of a second he snatched second place in the 4 × 100 freestyle; together with Alessandro Miressi, Lorenzo Zazzeri and Manuel Frigo.
Very heavy medals, as explained by the president of Coni, Malagò. The silver of the 4 × 100 freestyle is legendary, for beaten opponents. All five guys were excellent. Santo Condorelli was also admirable, given his contribution on drums. The clarity with which they have always remained focused is impressive. Congratulations to all the boys and also to the Italian Swimming Federation.
