When you can return to the beautiful Italian beaches? It is a legitimate question, considering the heat advancing in the various regions, from South to North. Tourists, both local and foreign, as well as tourism operators ask for it.

The Draghi Government is carefully evaluating the decisions in this regard, considering how a mass return to the sea can have an impact on the evolution of Covid infections. However, the vaccination campaign continues and will soon also involve the over 40s. This means that the concessions to the public they will increase from week to week, including the beaches. That's when the bathing season will start in the Italian regions. A detailed program, full of dates to mark on your calendar.

Reopening of the beaches

There are regions that have clearly clarified the dates and others, however, that are currently working on the program to reopen the beaches. In Abruzzo green light from 1 June. In reality, many establishments left as early as April 26, even if only for heliotherapy. On the latter date, the "go-ahead" was granted in Campania.

Basilicata e Calabriainstead, returned to yellow on May 10, they are working on reopening during the second half of the month. On the other hand, theEmilia Romagna, which opened half of the factories on 1 May. By 15, it is hoped to be able to restart the entire sector. Same date, the latter, for Friuli-Venezia Giulia, although some establishments may postpone until the start of the summer season.

In Lazio the individual Municipalities can decide what to do in this regard but, in general, from the beginning of May it is possible to reopen the structures. The same goes for the Liguria, at least for 30% of the areas. The remainder will wait on May 15, as well as in Molise and Puglia. The Marches instead look to the first weekend of June (5-6).

In Sardinia instead, the return to the yellow zone is expected, scheduled for 17 or 22 May. On May 16, however, you can return to the beach in Sicilia, with season tickets starting from 11 June. A gradual process in Toscana, with factories already open, others that will do so in mid-May and all the rest at the end of the month. The same goes for the Veneto, which will see most of the factories restart on 22 May.

Vaccine on the beaches: second dose for tourists

With the approach of the summer season, the question arose as to how the second dose of the vaccine would be guaranteed to citizens on vacation or, even, outside the region for a short period. Pending a confrontation with the Draghi government, the regions are pushing to allow the recall to be carried out in vacation spots.

One way not to affect tourism and, at the same time, to follow up the vaccination campaign even in summer. Commissioner Figliuolo explained that he was thinking of ad hoc places for vaccinations, looking with interest at mountain or maritime centers.

A project that, should take shape, would however require an information system for communication between Regions. The Balneari union said it was willing to vaccinate the staff and the entrepreneurs who adhere to the Sib (seaside union) would be ready to contribute to the national campaign.
