All-Italian madness, giving up everything, taking what is strictly necessary and launching into the unknown with a lot of courage and few certainties. This seems to be the last frontier of those who want to go beyond the border and get to know new places and people, and we Italians are no exception, on the contrary.

Federico and Yumi

And while every story of these deserves to be told, there are a few that just can't go unnoticed because of that touch of pure and simple madness. One of these is undoubtedly that of Federico Bonizzoni and his future wife Yumi, originally from Osaka.
Federico is an upholsterer specialized in restoring lifeblood to vintage cars, transplanted to the city of Manchester for several years, but born and raised in Vaiano, in the Cremasco area. Twenty years ago he met Yumi at an English course, but after completing the training they lost sight of them until 2014.
Once they found each other by chance thanks to Facebook (Yumi used to work as a restaurateur in Munich), they began to hear each other more and more often, only to discover that their friendship was something more. After some time together, the two decided to get married, but above all to visit Yumi's parents in Japan and take a year to travel the world - all of which seems decidedly adventurous, but knowing that this trip will. riding a Vespa turns their experience into something crazy.

The journey: all-Italian madness

Federico is a great lover of vintage vehicles and, as happens in many couples, it happens that certain passions are transmitted to the partner. In fact, at a gathering in Croatia, Yuri experienced the thrill of two wheels and since then the young Japanese has fallen in love with the small, all-Italian vehicle. So much in love that it was the same woman who suggested that Federico go to his family across entire continents aboard a simple Vespa.
Medjugorje, Albania, Turkey, Asia, ferry to Taiwan and arrival in Osaka scheduled for November. Here is the itinerary organized by the newlyweds, armed only with their love and some spare parts just so as not to find themselves walking among the high mountains, the immense plains and the little-known cities that they will have to cross to reach Osaka and introduce Federico to their parents by Yumi.
And once you get to Japan? Surely they will not stop, indeed the return journey has nothing to envy to the outward one. A waits for him coast to coast in the United States, along US Route 66, perhaps flanked by groups of centaurs aboard their choppers, up to the east coast where they will embark for London.

and more ...

But if you believe that this adventure is a new project, you are very wrong. In 2009 another Italian tried (and succeeded) in the enterprise of arriving in the Rising Sun aboard a Vespa.
It is the story of Giuseppe Percivati and his great passions: girls, the Vespa and traveling.
Giuseppe was only 24 years old at the time and in order to see his love again, known in the Piedmontese capital thanks to a scholarship, he got on a Vespa and left for Tokyo.
Her journey and adventures, which lasted four months, were documented step by step with a diary on her blog (urlitour.it), enjoying great success throughout the network, making the whole world aware of our madness and what a man would be willing to do for the love of a woman and a Vespa
