From next July 2nd Alice, pseudonym of Carla Bissi, is back on tour to pay homage to her teacher and mentor Franco Battiato. The singer-songwriter will give life to the tribute tour "Alice sings Battiato”Where in twelve dates the event will remember the great artist who passed away on May 18th.

The tour will start from the courtyard of Palazzo Farnese in Piacenza and will end on August 31 in the setting of Piazzale Castello in Udinese. Twelve summer stages to bring the most beautiful and significant pieces of Franco Battiato's career to the most prestigious stages in Italy. After the summer, a short break and then the tour will restart in December in the main Italian theaters. Alice's goal is to revive live all the elegance and beauty of the Sicilian singer-songwriter's masterpieces with the deepest respect for his works.

Alice and Battiato were one of the most beautiful couples of the Italian songwriter, he teacher, she pupil and colleague, who triumphed in Sanremo in 1981 singing "For Elisa”, One of the most beautiful and significant pieces born from this partnership. The desire is to revive on tour, strictly live, all the beauty, elegance and intimacy that only Battiato's masterpieces were able to give to the public. These are the scheduled dates:

The link between the two artists

From the artistic partnership between Alice and Franco Battiato “Per Elisa” was born, a song that allowed the singer-songwriter to win the Sanremo Festival in 1981. In those years the partnership between the young Elisa and Franco Battiato was born who decided to compose some songs for her career. After "For Elisa", the most famous song, it was the turn of "The hot summer wind" and "Message". Together they participated in theEurovision Song Contest of 1984 with the song "The Trains of Tozeur" which conquered the fifth place in the standings.

In 1985 Alice published "Stolen jewelry“, Tribute album containing all songs written and originally interpreted by Franco Battiato. Among the songs present "Indian Moon", Signs of Life "and" Nevski Prospect ", a confirmation of the strong bond between the two artists and colleagues. After a few years of hiatus, the two returned to collaborate in the late 90s and throughout the 2000s. Alice chose Franco Battiato to devote herself to experimentation and in 2016 they were the protagonists of a long tour in theaters and arenas together. On that occasion they gave life to a unique show singing famous and significant songs of their careers. From the tour was born the album "Live in Rome", recorded at the Auditorium della Conciliazione.
