The next championship of formula 1 it will be a little more Italian. The reason? After more than 30 years of absence there is the return of one of the car manufacturers that have made the history of this sport: Alfa Romeo. A welcome surprise for all racing lovers, who are already rubbing their hands for possible duels with the other Italian teams in the race, namely the Ferrari , Toro Rosso.

The return to Formula 1

With a grand ceremony on December 2nd, at the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum in Arese (Milan), the new single-seater was presented. A little gem that has already made everyone fall in love, first and foremost the CEO of the FCA group Sergio Marchionne, who defined the event as something historical.
Behind this red and white car, in truth, lies the work not only of the engineers of the house of the snake, but also that of the Clean. This is in fact the result of the partnership between Alfa Romeo and the Swiss team. The two brands have worked closely in recent years to create something capable of reviving Sauber itself (which came last last season) and, at the same time, allow Alfa to return to the racing greats.

From the 2020 season, if things go as everyone hopes, the Milanese team she will then be able to compete alone, with a team of its own. Just like the 1950 championship, the first in the history of Formula 1, which saw Alfa Romeo triumph and establish itself on the world racing scene. A tradition of successes that brought dozens of trophies to its showcase between the XNUMXs and XNUMXs. And now his big comeback, with the pilots Marcus Ericsson e Charles Leclerc to drive the new Italian-Swiss racing car.

From Alfa Romeo to Maserati: the Italian projects for the next championships

The return of Alfa Romeo to Formula 1 was not the only novelty of the Arese event. Marchionne stated that the Maserati could - it is still a hypothesis - arrive soon in the Formula E. It is about the championship for electric supercars and that, at least for the moment, does not see any Italian team participating in it. He also added that Ferrari may also sign up with a car of its own in the future. These are just ideas though, so for now let's just admire the return of Alfa Romeo to the next Formula 1 championship.
