After Sicilian cassata of records arrives at Campobello di Licata, in the province of Agrigento another dessert of records with the cake that represents and celebrates the Sicily of 400 kg with lots of details and genuine and local ingredients.
The cake dedicated to Sicily
I pastry chefs arrived from all over the island, as part of the summer events organized by the Municipality of Campobello di Licata, they wanted to create a homage to the Sicilian land dedicating a mammoth-sized dessert to her.

Leading the team of pastry chefs i pastry chef more titles such as: the Mangione brothers, Leonardo Massaro, Lillo Defraia, Andrea Finocchiaro, Calogero la Mattina, Giovanni Lorenzo Montemaggiore.
The first edition of the "Megatorta per Campobello"
For the realization of this pastry art work with bright colors like those typical of Sicily, the masters used: 15 sponge cake plates, 100 kg of vanilla custard, 30 liters of syrup and over 200 kg of fresh seasonal fruit. Using these ingredients, the main mountain ranges have also been recreated, with the highest volcano in Europe at the top, i.e. theEtna.
Many details are taken care of down to the smallest detail to guarantee the maximum probable rendering of Sicily, the most beautiful island in the center of the Mediterranean.

Also present were the Ristoworld Italy association, the Agrigento provincial association of cooks and pastry chefs "Salvatore Schifano", the professional association Chef Italia Malta, the Disciple D'auguste Escoffier association "Delezione Sicilia", the Profumi di Sicilia association, the national union awarded to the merit of the Italian Republic.
At the end of the evening, the cake was enjoyed by a large and cheering public who appreciated the initiative which will be repeated over the years trying to overcome these numbers. A feast for the eyes, a marvel for the palate.
