Primo Maggo, this year Potenza is hosting the national labor day demonstration of CGIL, CISL and UIL. Several thousand demonstrators are expected in the Lucanian capital who will arrive from all over Italy with dozens of buses. The heart of the event will be in the historic center of the Lucanian capital, in Piazza Mario Pagano, where the 140 square meter stage will be installed. Speeches by the three national leaders Maurizio Landini (Cgil), Luigi Sbarra (Cisl) and Pierpaolo Bombardieri (Uil) are expected in the late morning. The long day will end with the concert of the "Tarantulas of Tricarico”, the town in the province of Matera which, 100 years ago, gave birth to Rocco Scotellaro, the poet who recounted the peasant struggle of the South.
Il May Day national is also characterized by the great musical event of Piazza San Giovanni in the Lateran in Rome, the big concert. In the 2023 line-up there are several well-known artists, such as Lazza, Tananai. Mr. Rain, Ariete, Levante and the Coma_Cose. Also present is the musical phenomenon of the moment, Matteo Paolillo, who has climbed the charts with the theme song of the TV series Sea out. Also on the list are Gaia, Rocco Hunt, Mara Sattei, Piero Pelù and Rose Villain. Hosting the mega event will be Ambra Angiolini flanked by Fabrizio Biggio, the character actor known for his comic performances alongside Fiorello in Long live Rai 2.
