European Heritage Label 2023, there are 13 applications presented by Italy, as disclosed by ministry of culture. The EU recognition also known under the denomination of 'European Heritage Label', has the aim of enhancing, every two years, the common cultural heritage, through which to strengthen the sense of belonging to the European Union.

The projects related to the 2023 selection are: Aquileia, land of dialogue proposed by the Aquileia Foundation of Aquileia (Udine); State Archive of Palermo proposed by the Archival Superintendency of Sicily-Palermo State Archive. Archeological area Roman Forum and Palatine Hill proposed by the Archaeological Park of Colosseum; Monumental complex of San Vincenzo al Volturno proposed by the Molise Regional Directorate of Museums. Galleria del Grano Pasta Museum proposed by the Galleria del Grano association Gragnano (Naples).

The locations of the proposed Operation Avalanche Municipal Administration City of Battipaglia (Salerno); the arbereshe intangible heritage of Piana degli Albanesi – Hora and Arbereshevet proposed by the municipality of Piana degli Albanesi (Palermo) And, again, the telescope of Galileo, a European history proposed by the Museo Galileo – Institute and Museum of the History of Science in Florence; "Pierluigi Gherardi" Museum of Sketches proposed by the Municipality of Pietrasanta (Lucca); San Leonardo bridge Termini Imerese proposed by the non-profit Rodoarte Association of Palermo; Rome, Campidoglio, Capitoline Museums – Hall of the Orazi and Curiazi proposed by Rome capital city – Capitoline Superintendency for Cultural Heritage. Sant'Anna di Stazzema proposed by the Peace National Park of Sant'Anna di Stazzema (Lucca); Tempio Voltiano proposed by the Civic Museums of the Municipality of Como.

The sites of greatest European importance will be chosen

The Ministry of Culture informs that a ministerial commission, which will be specifically set up by decree of the General Secretariat, will evaluate by 8 February 2023 the best sites from the point of view of European relevance, design quality and operational-management capacity. Applications, up to a maximum of two, must be presented to the European Commission by 2023 March XNUMX. Only one site can then be awarded recognition for each Member State among the participants in the initiative, as provided for in the decision establishing the European Heritage Label.
