Also this year the internationally renowned goldsmith Michele Affidato realizes the special prizes of the Sanremo Festival. Among these, the prize of the "Critica Mia Martini" and that of the "Sala Stampa Lucio Dalla" stand out. In fact, the most eagerly awaited appointment on the national music scene is imminent: the Italian song festival which will start on February 7th. Also for this edition the master will be present with his extraordinary art Calabrian goldsmith Michele Affidato who has been making the special prizes for the festival for 14 years. His works have characterized important moments of the singing festival with the awarding of the great interpreters of national and international music. Unique creations that tell and promote the musical event in the world. The prizes created were presented in the showroom of the entrusted master.
Michele Trusted goldsmith of international renown
Among the most prestigious, the "Mia Martini Critics Award" stands out, a sculpture galvanized in gold and silver, composed of a lion leaning on a treble clef, with a composition of silver flowers at the base. And then there is the "Lucio Dalla Press Office Award", also a gold-plated sculpture, depicting a treble clef, a work that is awarded to one of the big names in the competition, by radio, web and television. The trusted master has also created the "Number one City of Sanremo Prize", conceived by Ilio Masprone, consisting of a sculpture depicting a palm tree flanked by the number 1, in which a silver flower and a blue topaz have been set.
Over the years, this sculpture has been assigned to illustrious personalities such as Pippo Baudo, Al Bano Carrisi, Tony Renis, Rita Pavone, Toto Cutugno, Iva Zanicchi and Fausto Leali. This year, however, the prize will be awarded to Giorgia. On the same evening, the "Behind the Scenes" prizes will also be awarded, intended for personalities who contribute to making the singing festival popular nationally and internationally. And again, i AFI awards “Italian Phonographic Association” of which Affidato has been the official goldsmith for several years. The awards in question are always awarded to artists and personalities from the world of Italian music.
Sanremo house
The master goldsmith also had the task of making the prizes for Sanremo house, among these: the "Soundies Awards”, an award conceived by Vincenzo Russolillo, patron of Casa Sanremo, designed for the best video clip among the songs competing at the festival and intended for record companies. For Affidato, Sanremo is not just art and music but also social commitment. As has already happened in the past, the master goldsmith, who holds the position of national ambassador Unicef Italy, will promote a conference within Casa Sanremo. The meeting will focus on the theme of quality education and mental health as psychosocial well-being.
Last but not least, also the participation in the contest "Music Against the Mafias”, designed by Gennaro De Rosa. In practice, through music and musicians, a project of commitment to contrast the criminal phenomenon is carried out. The work is a silver sculpture depicting the logo of "Music against the mafias”, made bygoldsmith-sculptor Antonio Affidato. Finally, his are also the awards for “Sanremo Writers House” which consist of silver bas-reliefs. These prizes will stand out in a space entirely dedicated to the meeting between writers and the public where, to talk about books, musicians, journalists and entertainers will gather.
